In the latest rating by a United Kingdom based agency, Bob Little Public Relations, a Nigerian, Mr Muyiwa Bamgbose, has been rated world’s 9th best innovator in electronic learning. According to the rating, Bamgbose has joined the list of the World’s best 10 innovators in e-learning for the second time. In last year’s ratings, he was said to have rated 10th in the world. Bamgbose, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of Educational Advancement Centre (EAC), Ibadan, invented the electronic learning platform that delivers contents of subjects to mobile telephones of candidates preparing for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). According to Bamgbose, the mock examination enables all stakeholders involved to identify the volume of work that needs to be done before the time of the actual examination. He said, the aim of the examination was to help government determine who is actually prepared for the examination and deserves the sponsorship of the government. This is a welcome development as the JAMB registrar, Professor dibu Ojerinde recently made it clear that the examination itself will be taken electronically, starting from next year.
